Classroom Evangelism
So yesterday in my Judaism class the prof made a comment about not needing to take beliefs as historical facts in order to believe them (this was part of what the book we had to read stated). Now, unfortunately for him he decided to bring Christian belief into this. He stated that Christians can believe in Christ without believing that it's historical. Now this sparked up a bit of anger in me and another girl in the class. So we commented that that's really not true in the Christian religion. The discussion ended when I mention that there's a verse in the New Testament that says that our faith is meaningless if Christ didn't actually die and rise from the dead. To which the prof said to bring in the verse. Now...not having my Bible with me, or actually knowing where that verse is, I said that I would bring it in next week. Now, I appeal to you my readership, that if you know where that verse is then please tell me because I was not able to find it as easily as I was expecting to and am trying to figure out how I can actually find it. If no one tells me where it is then I will post it once I find it. Thanks.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention that this sparked up a conversation between me and a Jewish girl in the class and I'm hoping that I will be able to speak with her more because she seems interested in spiritual things.
Yay! Thank you Glenn.
1 Corinthians 15:12-19 12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.
