My Birthday Celebration

Blessings from heaven on high,
Now...some of you may remember my post about birthdays a little while back...well! It was completely unfounded. So far I've had a great birthday...aside from the fact that me and my 12 (TWELVE!!! 12!!! And I have more friends that were sorry they couldn't be there!) friends met a day early (no big deal) to celebrate. So...even though I asked Nicola to plan something fun and to invite whoever and just suprise me I still ended up finding out what we were doing before we got there. Next time it would probably work better if they blindfolded me once I got in the car and didn't have the driver blurt out a comment about mini-putt and directions. But it's ok, at least I had (vaguely) no clue till then. It's funny cuz I actually mentioned that to Ben earlier in the day...I think...

So we got to the mini-putt and I had no clue who to expect. I saw Alma walking into the mini-putt with a few others when we were parking the car. It was so great. I got completely surprised by who was there and I enjoyed the glow-in-the-dark mini-putt cuz that was something I wanted to do anyways. Now this was an amazing moment because when I was getting dressed this morning I was thinking of wearing my black skirt, but I decided that as fun as that would be that I really wanted to wear my pants with my white skirt overtop and my white shirt with the red criss-cross things. And I am so glad I did because I was so 'radiant' as my friends said.

It was such a great time. The group of us played and my group consisted of Andrea, Jamie, Ben and Alma (who wasn't playing, but was hanging around for fun). Pictures were taken, jokes were made, a good time was had by all (or at least so it seemed and that is what I hope). I think I had the best time because I was letting myself be me and making jokes and dancing around the mini-putt course. And I sunk the ball in the tornado at the end! It was so much fun! I loved it!
It was great company and unfortunately I didn't get to spend as much time with some people as I would have liked to, but hopefully I'll have opportunity to make up for that.

So after the mini-putt we went over to Boston Pizza where I enjoyed a pool game with Nicola, while apparently there was a card being passed around for everyone to sign, which I still don't know who was responsible for that, but thanks. It was great conversation and those angels just keep following me everywhere I go. It's like they like me or something. I don't remember ever having so much fun out with my friends. It was so great. I think the best part was when the waiter came over to me and asked me to stand on the chair I was sitting on and everyone sang me Happy Birthday as I stood holding my brownie 'cake'. It was very good. I was greatly pleased. I am also pleased by the fact that I did not have to pay for anything. Friends are nice. And it was a great surprise to find out at the end of the night that I actually did get a few gifts from my friends. Mark gave me flowers (so sweet) and Matt and Jamie gave me a card with a special birthday sum in it. It was really sweet. Somehow I think it worked out better that I didn't get my gifts till the end of the night.

So after we parted from everyone else Michelle, Nicola, Ben, Josh and I went over to Michelle's place. We played piano a bit (me with my limited knowledge). Josh and Michelle were lovely at it. I really enjoyed it all. Even the car ride home. It was so great! I can't wait to get together with everyone again. It will be remembered as a night of smiles, laughter, hugs and dancing 'like a fairy'. I really can't explain the happiness and joy I have right now.
Love you all and blessings.
