Typical Day at Work

All is for the glory of God,
So it started out as the most typical day at work. I went and got my tea before we opened the store. And of course as is the trend on Saturdays the lights above the store were not yet on. So I sat in the store about 10-20 minutes waiting for the main lights to come on and had people walking in and wondering whether or not we were open. So time passes on normally and we close the store at the appropriate time. So I go into the back in order to make phone calls for people whose orders are ready. So I make the phone calls, put notes on them and then bring them into the store and put them on the appropriate shelf.

So I thought that this was going to be a most ordinary day, but then I went to the bathroom and on the way I listened as the speaker (Bill Prankard aka. some guy I don't know) spoke about how we are the only ones who can be the best at who we are. And I thought, tell me something I don't already know. Once I got to the bathroom I noticed that half of the toilet despencer was empty. So most confused I tried to figure out how to access the other half. After a bit of a struggle and toilet paper falling and pushing it back a bit I realized that if i push the little plastic thing all the way to the other side then it stays there. Success!

So I go to wash my hands and the water cascades down from the tap in this wonderful flowy waterness. And I walk back to the office pondering whether or not I can make an interesting blog post out of all this. As I continue with the packaging I listen to Beck as she makes random comments about SOMers and then says Ellinor and randomly starts singing some song about missing Ellinor. So Beck invites me over to look at a picture of some that she finds attractive. So I come to look and I make a comment about how I find _______ more attractive. So I joyfully go back to work.

Once I finish the packaging I have a marvoulous discussion with Beck Poulsen about how I am going to blog about all that has transpired and hopefully others will find it interesting (though I am not confident in my abilities to interest others, but practice makes perfect). So as I'm in the store (listening to the speaker) I decide to check my staff email and am horrified to find 21 emails waiting for me and wonder how many of them are actually relevant for me to read.

Amazed I read "We have bought some fresh Krispy Kreme. Please come and help yourself." Dated Friday 11 am. Darn, somehow I don't think that's still available. Amazingly that was the most interesting email aside from possibly the email I received in reply to something I emailed Sean Lee about.

So I stood in the store wondering about what would happen over the next few days. Wondering first of all when Beck would come into the store since the service had ended early. Next wondering when I would receive responses to what people thought of my most recent copy of my testimony (which will be available to those who ask...eventually). And as Beck wandered into the store and then out again I wondered what my surprise birthday celebration would be like tomorrow. And whether or not someone would send out a staff email telling everyone that my birthday was on Monday like I have seen so many other times before. My work day will soon come to a close and I stand here pondering what Beck will think when she reads this.
Elephant Shoe. ;)
What an ordinary day...God bless.
