Seeing Past the World

All is for the glory of God,
Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, "Come along now and sit down to eat"? Would he not rather say, "Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink"? Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, "We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty." Luke 17:7-10

The good servant continually working hard to do what is right is not even acknowledged for doing what they have been taught to do. But I'm sure that if they don't live up to the expectations of their masters then they are whipped and beaten, if not by an object then by a word. If they don't live up to expectations then they are disciplined and discouraged. If they do then what good do they see? According to these verses only the ability to say after all their striving that they are still unworthy. At least in the end God will say to these 'Well done My good and faithful servant.' God is a wonderful and merciful God.
May heaven fall upon you.
