Monthly Letter # 4 - Testimonies and Leadership

Hello everyone,

God has worked in some unexpected ways. During the coffee house on July 3rd two people shared their testimonies. Steve shared his testimony first and I shared my testimony afterwards. It was a scary experience to share my testimony with a room of about 30 people, but I trusted God to provide the words to say. After I had shared my testimony a number of people from our group were greatly encouraged by it. One girl even told me that she could tell that I'd been through some difficult things, but she had not thought I'd been through so much. God has been at work in my life to bring me through some very difficult circumstances.

I have been learning a lot about leadership. I have also seen the difference in being prepared when you are asked to do something. I have been asked to lead some practices for the dramatic dance team with very short notice. It is hard to get the most out of practice when you are trying to figure out what to do in the middle of the practice. I have been learning a lot about how to speak with people and to word my corrections carefully. The team has been learning quickly and is very excited about this opportunity for ministry. We are looking forward to our performance next week.

In these final weeks of project we are trusting God to guide us and help us maintain perseverance. There is still a lot that needs to be done and we are expecting God to produce amazing results. Please pray that we will be sensetive to God's leading moment by moment.

In Christ,

Liz Stodolak.

Pray for:
-my dad to have an open heart to the word of God when he has lunch with a pastor tomorrow
-the coffee house next week
->that everything will be prepared for the coffee house
->that we will be effective in communication of the gospel
->for people to have an open heart to the gospel
->that people will receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour
-that we will finish the final weeks of project strong
-we will be able to rest and be refreshed during the debrief retreat on the final weekend
-that we will be faithful to follow-up with those we have met
-that we will continue to apply what we have learned here once we leave Halifax
-that we will be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit
