Monthly Letter #2 - Growing in Ministry

Hello Everyone,

I've now been in Halifax for a month. We have received various kinds of training. One thing that we have learned is to share the gospel through dramatic dancing. This is something I am very excited about. It is very powerful when done properly. Please pray that we will be able to gather together and practice.

We have been assigned different roles to take over once the staff leave in a couple weeks. This week we are transitioning into our new roles. I have been assigned the role of Weekly Meeting Time Keeper and Worship Team Co-ordinator. I will be making sure that speakers are aware of how much time they have and organizing who will be leading worship each week. Please pray for the team as we transition into different roles. Pray that there will not be friction or anger towards other members of the team.

It is exciting to see how God is working here. Last Sunday (May 27) 8 of us attended the local baptist church in order to form partnerships with local churches. The message that was spoken was about the importance of having spiritual babies and making disciples of others. It was the perfect circumstances under which to go to the pastor and speak with him about the evangelistic mission of Campus for Christ. We set up a meeting for Tuesday morning and I was blessed to be one of the 4 students to attend the meeting. The pastor was very excited to hear about what we were here to do. We set 3 dates for when we will be training members of their church in how to share the gospel. After that we will be having a barbeque to help reach out to the community.

In addition to this exciting partnership we were also able to have 3 members of our worship team serve on the worship team at the same church this Sunday (June 3rd). The congregation appreciated the worship and they seemed very receptive to our presence in their community. The pastor announced that he was pleased that God had sent more workers into the harvest field of Halifax. We have been warmly received into the church community and I am excited to see how our partnership with the church will unfold.

In Christ,
Liz
