A prayer for Live 8
God please open up hearts around the world so that they will be grieved with the same grief you share for the people of Africa. Break hearts over this poverty. Make it so that we will no longer turn away guilty feeling as though we can do nothing. Let there be a rising into action. Open up the hearts of the leaders of Africa and put in place your leaders so that they will feel compelled to move into action and save their people even if there were no aid coming to them. Move the hearts of the people in the G8 so that they will agree with what the people of Live 8 and their supporters have been saying. Move your people into action so that they will support Live 8. Let there be a rising up in the hearts of people so that even if the G8 does not come into agreement that your people will be so moved that they will provide the support needed to end world poverty. Many are in agreement that enough is enough. Hear our prayers Lord and set the world into motion in a way that can not be stopped. God we need you to support Live 8 because without you nothing can be done. We are asking for your support.
