It seems that a lot of people have a hard time doing what God says. I think the main reason for that is that they don't really know God. If you know God then you trust Him enough to do what you need and you won't go looking for other gods. Instead of looking for what you can get out of God, you're able start to worshiping Him for who He is, without expectations.
