God wants His name to be known. My reasons for why I think He wants this? No, He's not some pompus God that needs us to acknowledge Him. Who He is doesn't change according to what we think of Him...of course we might be changed by what He thinks of us... I think He wants us to know who He is because He is able to provide for us. He wants us to acknowledge Him so that we won't get stuck focusing on something that can't help us. He wants us to know Him as God because that's who He is.
